Kalottjazz & Blues festival offers high quality music for all jazz and blues fans at the Aine Art Museum’s park area, near the Tornio river, under the midnight sun. You can enjoy jazz and blues on multiple stages, and there’s a lot to see and experience for the entire family!
The biggest festival organized entirely by volunteers is held 42th time this year. The festival is held in Järvenpää a week after midsummer celebrations, on June 26th to 30th. This year there are traditional blues festivities and some new changes.
The 20-year-anniversary edition of Jazz-Espa concert series opens on Sunday, July 28, with a day-long, free, open air Suvilahti Jazz festival on Merikerho restaurant ship on the urban beach promenade of Sörnäinen.
Nordic Jazz Network has worked already for 20 years to collaborate and make Nordic jazz heard all over Nordic countries and even further. The network’s main tool is an annual Nordic Jazz Comets showcase event which offers young jazz bands a way abroad. The network members are five Nordic jazz organizations: Jazz Finland, Jazz Danmark, Norsk jazzforum, Svensk jazz and FÌH Music School.
Kerava Jazz is held 24.5.-26.5.2019 in city of Kerava. The high-quality programme consists of Jarmo Saari & Pauli Lyytinen, Kadri Voorand, Berghäll Triality, Olavi Louhivuori Superposition!, Louis Moholo-Moholo and Afrojazz Quintet – just to name a few intresesting acts. We Jazz continues its popular summer series on the island of Lonna in Helsinki. Five top Finnish ensembles take the stage and We Jazz DJs round up the summer events with their vinyl selections. The series kicks of on 3 July, and continues every Wednesday in July.

The core of the co-operation between the Finnish and Estonian jazz organizations has been Heimojazz, a band exchange project which turns already 10 years today. Jere Haakana Varjosto visited Tallinn and Tarto during their Jazz Finland tour in early May, and their counterpart Lauri Kadalipp Social Jazz, will perform at Juttutupa's Rytmihäiriö club on Wednesday, May 22.
Berghäll Triality brings the question of climate on stage on their tour of five concerts on 21th to 26th May. The programme of the tour consists of composition series The Arctic, that was released as an album in June 2018. In addition to that, at Kerava Jazz Festival Berghäll Triality presents the premiere of to-be-released series The Antarctic. The tour is a sequel to the album release tour that started last autumn.
Modern music club G Livelab Tampere presents wide and diverce setting of top artists from Finland and abroad. The first gig is held on 17th August. Tickets are now available in the G Livelab Tampere ticket shop and Tiketti.fi.
