Glenn Miller’s melodies take over Kulttuuritalo in March

The Great Helsinki Swing Big Band takes over Kulttuuritalo with their soloist and presents the classic tunes of Glenn Miller. Glenn Miller Ballroom concert is held on Friday 15 of March with soloists Juki Välipakka and vocal band Andrew’s Girls. The concert is conducted by Antti Rissanen.


Jazz kiinnostaa makes its comeback on 17.2.

 Jazz kiinnostaa radio programme returns to Radio Helsinki with new season on 17 February with Matti Nives, Teppo Mäkynen and Ville Herrala, who focus on jazz music on Sundays from 2 to 4pm. The new show is produced in collaboration between Radio Helsinki and Art Museum Ateneum and it continues until 19 of May.



Jazz Jkl Live challenges Jyväskylä-based students to give jazz a chance

Jyväskylä is a thriving student hub in Central Finland. In addition to the colourful campus life and various subcultures, the city has particularly much to offer to music lovers, and jazz is no exception. Jazz Jkl association was founded in 2017 to bring high level jazz concerts to downtown Jyväskylä. 




TelepART Mobility Support for performing artists continues to expand

TelepART is an easy and quick micro-funding format, run by the Finnish Cultural Institutes, which promotes opportunities for performing artists to travel and perform internationally. The platform hopes to generate more cultural exchange opportunities between Finland and the countries affiliated to the platform.  On spring 2019 the support expands to France.


Gourmet on Jazz Finland tour  

Gourmet released their fourth album En garde last spring and are now seen on Jazz Finland tour on 6 to 16 February. The sextet will perform music from the latest album, older Gourmet classics and new material not heard before.
