We Jazz published a charity collection in support of Ukraine

The collection, which was released digitally 3 March, contains 25 tracks of which most are previously unreleased. The collection includes tracks from e.g. Koma Saxo, Timo Lassy Trio, Ilmiliekki Quartet, Joona Toivanen Trio, Superposition and Terkel Nørgaard With Ralph Alessi. All proceeds from the collection will be channeled to humanitarian aid in support of the crisis in Ukraine.


Turku Jazz Festival begins

The 53-year-old Turku Jazz Festival brings light and jazzy selfcare to spring with a wonderful selection of artists! The most anticipated performances are the solo piano concert of jazz legend Kenny Barron, Linda Fredriksson Juniper, and the premiere concert for double bass and big band by Turku Jazz Artist of the Year Ville Herrala and Turku Jazz Orchestra.





Savoy JAZZFest 2022 begins March 2

Savoy JAZZFest, which is held for the fourth time, will feature an inspiring program full of top musicians of the jazz world in Helsinki from 2 to 6 March 2022. The festival will feature the debut of Pete Parkkonen Jazz Orchestra and the international top names Vijay Iyer, Christian McBride and Inside Straight, Artemis, Manu Katché “Scope”, Nicholas Payton Trio and Rebekka Bakken + UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra.



Jarmon saarella 50 year-anniversary concert takes place March 2022

Jarmo Saari's 50th anniversary concert Jarmon saarella ("on Jarmo's island") was one of the first events postponed after the closure of Finland on March 12, 2020. The retrospective gala will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2022 and raise funds for Protect Children, an organization that works to prevent sexual violence against children.


Flutist Naïssam Jalal tours Finland with Quest of the Invisible in February

For several years, the Franco-Syrian flutist and composer Naïssam Jalal has revealed a vibrant personal universe and gained broad international recognition. At the crossroads of oriental traditional mystic music and modal jazz, she has invited the Brazilian pianist Leonardo Montana and the Franco-Armenian double bass player Claude Tchamitchian to play in search of The Invisible. Her transcendental trio will be touring Finland, Estonia and Latvia from February 21st to March 6th 2022.
