The purpose of the Erik Lindström Fund is to support the studies of young Finnish jazz musicians primarily in the United States. The capital of the Lindström Fund, which operates in connection with Music Archive Finland, has been donated by the Finnish Jazz Legend No. 1, composer and musician Erik Lindström (1922–2015).
In honor of Erik Lindström's 100th anniversary, two grants of EUR 2,000 will be awarded by the fund to eligible applicants.
Priority will be given to study trips to the United States, as well as to musicians who would be able to enter the country for the first time largely due to the grant.
The application period ends on Friday, 15 April, 2022. The application should be addressed to the Board of Music Archive Finland and sent by e-mail to info@musiikkiarkisto.fi.
The application is free-form, but it must indicate the applicant's previous studies and musical activities, study plan, study financing plan and contact information.
The grant decisions will be announced during the autumn of 2022.
