Pianist Riitta Paakki's quartet, featuring guest bassist Kaisa Mäensivu, tours Finland on November 5–16. The tour is the last of the Jazz Finland tours for the fall season 2019.

Jukka Eskola Soul Trio releases new album
Trumpeter Jukka Eskola’s Soul Trio releases the long-awaited sophomore album Steamy! on 11 October via Timmion Records. The band celebrates the new album at G Livelab Helsinki on 31 October.
Nordic Jazz Comets top the busy Nordic-French networking season in December
Nordic Jazz Comets, the annual showcase for five up-and-coming Nordic jazz acts, and its French equivalent Jazz Migration, highlight this year’s General Assembly for the French club and festival network Association Jazzé Croisé. The assembly event in Paris on December 2–4 brings together jazz professionals from all over Europe to enjoy music and discuss topical matters. Les Rencontres AJC x Nordic Jazz Comets, is just a cherry on the top of a busy networking season this fall.

Saxophonist Esa Pietilä’s popular Creative Music and Sound Worksoop takes place at Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki on 26 and 27 October. Course is aimed at everyone interested in creative expression and improvisation, regardless of the genre.
Call for performers and producers for Jazz Finland tours in fall 2020 and Jazz-Espa festival
Jazz Finland (Suomen Jazzliitto) produces two tours and supports the production costs of two external tours in the fall of 2020. Additionally, Jazz Finland supports the annual Finnish-French Vapaat äänet tour. Application for the Jazz-Espa Festival 2020, taking place in July–August in Helsinki, can be completed with the same application form. The application is open from October 1 to November 4, 2019.
