Jazzfest Bonn is one of the longest and best-known jazz festivals in Germany. Next year the festival will host a competition for young jazz musicians for the first time! The competition is looking for the best, most creative international young jazz musicians under the age of 29.
As part of the Bonn 2020 Jazz Festival and the worldwide celebrations to mark Ludwig van Beethoven's 250th birthday, Jazzfest Bonn will hold the International Jazz Competition JazzBeet in Beethoven's birthplace. In addition to prize money, the prize winners will also have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the German public during the Bonn 2020 Jazz Festival (the festival is usually sold out).
The competition is intended to encourage young jazz musicians to engage with the revolutionary thinking and creative approaches in Beethoven's work. The competition is open to musicians born on or after 1.1.1991 who play in a permanent trio and explore new paths in music with creativity and courage.
The closing date for applications is 31 December 2019!
