Eight compositions and seven arrangements were chosen for the final of Markku Johansson composition and arrangement contest. Expressive and versatile pieces come from Finland and USA.
International composition and arrangement competition aroused interest around the world. 76 works from 15 countries were sent to compete in the final. More info of the final’s compositions will be released in Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri’s Facebook on Monday 20th August.
The final concert is held at Kulttuuritalo Martinus on 15th Spetember. The compositions will be interpreted by Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri together with musical multi-talents Erika Vikman and Mikael Konttinen. The concert is conducted by the chief conductor of Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri, Nick Davies.
After the concert, the jury, consisting of Hans Ek (Sweden), Markku Johansson, Jaakko Kuusisto and Antti Rissasen, chooses the winners of the competition and 18 000 euros is shared between the works.
