Nikita Rafaelov - Heart Does What Heart Wants is the latest electro-acoustic project by the accomplished pianist-keyboardist-producer Nikita Rafaelov.

The music on the Heart Does What Heart Wants album draws influences from modern jazz, ambient, new age, and lo-fi hip-hop, while stretching and taking these genres into uncharted territories. Each composition by Rafaelov is like its own little universe, a story that evolves and develops very subtly and organically. Rafaelov uses a wide range of synthesizers, mixers, and recording techniques to discover interesting and captivating soundscapes. The album features several top-notch professionals in their fields: Teppo Mäkynen, Jesse Markin, Tapani Rinne, Adele Sauros, Joonas Tuuri, Silva Kallionpää, Jonas Due (DK) and Oilly Wallace (DK).

Rafaelov has assembled a new ensemble consisting of top musicians, including perhaps one of Finland's most accomplished drummers of all time, Teppo Mäkynen. Other members of the ensemble include Oskari Siirtola and Teemu Vänskä.
