Teppo Mäkynen (b. 1974) has drummed his way indelibly to the canon of Finnish jazz. His amazing control of his ride cymbal resembles a trademark. It works as the common thread in his music so gently that it barely notices. You can still feel it as an irresistible groove in the music of Five Corners Quintet, Teddy Rok Seven, Jo Stance and other as stylish jazz combos. This virtuosic, groovy drummer is also a talented DJ and producer in the field of Finnish jazz.
