Singer Eeppi Ursin founded her own band, Eeppi Ursin Band, in 2002. In 2005 the group relesed their first album Violet, that presents Ursin as a composer and a lyricist. The sound world on this debut album is colourful and the band combines bravely jazz, pop and rock.
The band was called Eeppi Ursin Band for a few years until in 2006 the group gave up the word 'band'. At the same time Ursin decided to play also the piano herself whereas in the original group Aki Rissanen had worked as the pianist of the group. In 2009 Ursin released her solo album Yellow Page Girl where she returns to her roots as a singer-songwriter who sings and plays the piano.
The musicians in Ursin's band are all versatile musicians. Timo Kämäräinen works smoothly on the fields of jazz and rock from Ismo Alanko's band to Pepa Päivinen's group. The bass virtuosity of Antti Lötjönen is familiar from several groups, for example Five Corners Quintet and Ilmiliekki Quintet and drummer Olli Krogerus is known from for example Beagon and the band of singer-songwriter Olavi Uusivirta.
