Eeppi Ursin (b. 1977) became quickly a familiar face in the field of Finnish jazz in 2001 when she won the Lady Summertime jazz vocal competition. Later Ursin has performed actively with her own group, Eeppi Ursin Band, who released their debut album Violet in 2005. Besides her own band, two important groups for Ursin have been pianist Aki Rissanen's Warp!-trio and Aia, the modern a cappella ensemble formed by six talented female singers.
