Footprints International Jazz Platform Call for artists extended until May 7th

The artist call is an opportunity to join the 2021 edition of International Jazz Platform (Lodz/Poland).

50 participants will be selected to take part in the summer workshop, out of which 6 participants will be selected to take part in the Footprints international tours and mentoring programme.  

They will be working with agents trained within the project and put in touch with Footprints partners and experts in order to benefit from their experience and specific knowledge.

For this special edition of INTL Jazz Platform, we will be joined by an amazing faculty team: Susana Santos Silva on trumpet, Lotte Anker on saxophone, Håvard Wiik on piano, Petter Eldh on bass and Gard Nilssen on drums. 

Programme will also include seminars and meetings on the variety of topics concerning European music industry and run by representatives of the music industry - festival directors, experienced agents and experts. It's an opportunity to develop artistic and entrepreneurial skills, to develop the network of contacts, learn new and exciting music as well as exchange knowledge and ideas with artists from all around Europe.

It's addressed to young and motivated artists (above the age of 18) willing to develop their artistic and entrepreneurial skills as well as their touring and networking capacity. Participants can be students or graduates of specialized academies having individual musical aspirations and interested in a modern approach to music.

  • free participation of 5-day workshops for 50 young artists
  • 1 additional workshop day for 6 selected artists to Footprints tours 
  • 6 selected artists will be paired with Footprints agents

ABOUT FOOTPRINTS

As a logic sequel to Jazz Connective, International Jazz Platform & the Périscope launched this year Footprints, a 3 year cooperation programme working on training, mentoring and certifying responsible practices for artistic circulation.

This process will be focusing on social, economic and ecological responsibility in the music industry while supporting young agents and artists to develop their artistic circulation.

Footprints is a collaborative project with Bimhuis (the Netherlands), Oslo Jazz Festival (Norway), Austrian Music Export (Austria), Druga Godba (Slovenia), International Jazz Platform (Poland) & Périscope (France).
