Mika Kallio Gong Odyssey On Finnish Jazz Federation Tour in March

entry-image

Finnish Jazz Federation’s spring season begins with a bang – of a gong. To be exact, by several gongs in the hands of several virtuosos. Percussion artist Mika Kallio takes his fourth solo album Gong Odyssey on an extensive ten-concert tour in March.

Percussion artist Mika Kallio‘s fourth solo album Gong Odyssey was released in June 2022. The protagonist of the longplay’s journey is, self-proclaimingly, gong. Or multiple gongs. The compositions sway and wobble between electro-ambient and improvised music. For the Jazz Federation tour, Kallio has assembled a fine combo of versatile musicians, who also master the pious art of gongs, aside from their main instruments.
