The Jazz-Espa concert series, organised annually by Jazz Finland, will go ahead as planned at the Espa Stage between 27 July and 1 August. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, special measures will be in place, ensuring that the event remains safe for both audiences and artists. The Savoy Theatre, the administrative body for the Espa Stage, will resume concert activities at the stage from 1 July onwards.
Berlin-based Swedish saxophonist Otis Sandsjö returns with Y-OTIS 2, the eagerly-awaited sequel to Y-OTIS.
Quarantine Music 1 is the first release of Tuomo Prättälä's project under quarantine times and also the first album of Prättälä's own label Polygamy Records. Composed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the diary-like songs will be released as a digital EP on Friday 16th June. The album features guests artists guitarist Jarmo Saari, rapper Tommy Lindgren and percussionist Aarne Riikonen.
Published by We Jazz Records, producer-drummer Teppo Mäkynen's 3TM is nominated for the 2020 Nordic Council Music Prize for the album Lake (2019). The winner will be announced in Reykjavik 27th October from among the 12 nominees.
SaloJazz organizes a three-concert summer tour in July-August around the idyllic villages of Salo. Besides jazz music, the concerts will be connected by the themes of villages and local food.
Seminal Finnish big band phenomenon Sointi Jazz Orchestra begins its summer season on Sunday 14th June at 18:00. The livestreamed gig includes pearls from SJO's compositions throughout the years.

Creative Music and Sound Workshop is held in Hanko, June 22nd–25th 2020. The teacher of the course is saxophonist and composer Esa Pietilä. The course is suited for all instruments and vocalists, at all levels.
The annual career and networking event for upcoming bands takes place now for the 21st time. This year the Nordic Jazz Comets return to the Nordics, as a part of the We Jazz Festival in Helsinki on 2 December 2020. The new Nordic promotor network and the jazz federations of each country have selected five bands to take part in the project.
