The annual Jazz-Espa concert series takes place at the Espa open air stage on July 26–31, 2021. The event is hosted by Jazz Finland, with the health and safety of all the attendees as the number one priority.
One of the most internationally known Finnish jazz artists of the moment, pianist Aki Rissanen will release his new solo album Divided Horizon digitally on Friday 25 June. The physical edition of the record will go on sale on September 3rd. In addition to the grand piano, the album features the Omniwerk keyboard player, of which there is only one in the world.
KEMUT – Sustainable music industry toolkit project aims to address the climate crisis "for the live industry, by the live industry". Are you a live music professional – musician, producer, manager, promotor, entrepreneur etc. – in Finland, or do you work in an organization that promotes live music? Help the project take its first step and participate in a survey about the climate impact of the live industry! The survey (in Finnish only!) is open until August 10.
The new We Jazz gigs will take place on Saturday afternoons and present live jazz music in changing venues around the city of Helsinki. The series will be opened by JAF Trio in Vallila's Allotment Garden on 19 June.
Hietalahti Soi Music Festival brings well-known artists close to the people in Hietalahti. The one-day music festival focuses on classical and jazz and combines the two into an enchanting weave.
Saimaa Jazz Festival, which will be held for the first time, will bring a total of five ensembles to the Savonlinnan Kulttuurikellari to give concerts on July 9-11, 2021. Saturday's concert day culminates in a jam session open to the public, hosted by saxophonist Teemu Takanen.
The summer program of live jazz music events organized by Jazz Jkl has been published. The main theme of the season has been locality, and several artist guests from Jyväskylä are featured. The program consists of two club series that have already become a tradition.

It was 13th of March 2020, when the last lecture and group work with the students of the Master’s degree programme in Arts management at the campus of Sibelius Academy, as part of the Strategic Management Course, took place. In that period, the news about the pandemic were more frequent and some alarming news were coming from China and Italy, but yet the cultural field in Finland, and similarly in the rest of the world, could not even imagine what was going to take place in the coming months and year.
