The full programme for Turku Sea Jazz 2026 has now been released! From 29 July to 1 August 2026, the maritime jazz festival will spread across the riverside of Turku, the archipelago, and historic venues, offering audiences a unique combination of international top artists, leading names in Finnish jazz, and unforgettable concert settings.
The world-famous Philip Glass Ensemble visits Helsinki in September and performs Glassworks at the iconic Kulttuuritalo, the perfect backdrop for the music.
Celebrating its ten-year history and the release of its third album, Quartet Ajaton embarks on an album release tour organized by the Finnish Jazz Federation, with concerts in Tampere, Loimaa, Jyväskylä, Joensuu and Turku. The ensemble’s new album, Fin, aptly highlights the Finnish roots of its music in the Jazz Finland 100 anniversary year.

The second Jazzkynä article of the Jazz in Finland 100 anniversary year features Juha Henriksson examining the breakthrough of Finnish jazz schlager. In the 1950s, it brought the swing of jazz to mass audiences, propelled female singers into the spotlight, and created a distinctive Finnish sound.
In honor of the Jazz in Finland 100 anniversary year, a major Finnish jazz showcase event aimed at an international professional audience will be held in Finland. Organized in April in connection with the April Jazz Festival, the event will present up to ten current bands and artists selected by a professional jury.
April 30 marks the celebration of UNESCO’s International Jazz Day. In addition to highlighting jazz’s intrinsic artistic value, the day promotes messages of peace, intercultural collaboration and respect for human dignity and human rights. The Finnish Jazz Federation is organizing a week-and-a-half-long Jazz Day campaign, led this year by artists Emilia Sisco and Juhani “Junnu” Aaltonen.
Celebrate 40 years of April Jazz! From April 15–25, 2026, Espoo and Helsinki will host international headliners, Finnish jazz icons, and exclusive premieres.

Held for the sixth time, Turku Sea Jazz is expanding this summer to Ruissalo Shipyard at the turn of July and August. The evening concert programme in Ruissalo features American pianist Joey Calderazzo, acclaimed British saxophonist Camilla George, and two of the hottest names on the Finnish jazz scene: Selma Savolainen and Maja Mannila. Taking place on 29 July–1 August 2026, Turku Sea Jazz begins at Cathedral Park Terrace and on the island of Seili. As always, concerts will also be held daily in the maritime quarter of Forum Marinum and aboard museum ships. The full festival programme will be announced at the end of April.
