The adventurous Odysseus Festival will move to a new environment, the Culture Factory Korjaamo, for next summer's edition on July 19-20. The first artist announcements have been made, and presale tickets are now available on Tiketti.

Odysseus Festival, which has quickly become one of Helsinki's prominent summer music events, will be held at Culture Factory Korjaamo for the first time in 2024, spreading across all indoor spaces and the atmospheric summer courtyard. The first artists announced for Korjaamo include Lost Girls, a Norwegian duo consisting of Jenny Hval and Håvard Volden, trumpeter Verneri Pohjola performing material from the new Monkey Mind album with his quartet, the Swedish-Australian Ghosted presenting hypnotic improvised music, Australian pioneer of experimental music Oren Ambarchi, and Islaja, who recently released a highly praised new album. More program announcements are expected soon.

A limited number of specially priced two-day Super Early Bird tickets are now on sale at Tiketti sales points until the end of 2023 or until sold out.

"Change and movement are inherent to the nature of the Odysseus Festival, and I believe that the move to dry land gives us more space to focus on the core content of the event, which is presenting excellent and often rarely heard music," said the artistic director of the event, Matti Nives.

"The venue of Korjaamo is charming, and by adding the opportunities provided by the atmospheric courtyard of Korjaamo to the functioning indoor spaces, we create a summery and urban event environment where both the music and the audience can thrive. We are excited about the new direction and want to express our gratitude to Lonnan Saari for the first three years of Odysseus!"

The organizer of the Odysseus Festival is the Helsinki-based We Jazz, known for its record label, winter jazz festival, and record store. The festival has gained popularity in its first few years due to its adventurous program and its "human-sized" event environment. With the move to Korjaamo, Odysseus's capacity will remain around a thousand visitors per day in 2024.

"Odysseus Festival's programming is admirably non-hierarchical."
