Olli Ahvenlahti New Quintet presents compositions by Olli Ahvenlahti performed by a high-caliber quintet.

Jazz legend Olli Ahvenlahti celebrates his 75th birthday in 2024. In honor of this milestone, Ahvenlahti will release a new studio album with the New Quintet through the We Jazz record label in April. The album was recorded in September 2023 at E-Studio in Söderkulla, Sipoo. The compositions are new and fresh, all crafted by Ahvenlahti, and they nostalgically evoke the spirit of the old vinyl The Poet. The genre is tightly rhythmic, highly engaging melodic harmonic jazz, allowing the classical quintet and its soloists to shine one by one.
