KOLIZIO (Esperanto for "collision") was formed in 2017 out of a simple desire by six Finnish brass musicians to make music together. By colliding their unique expertise, these virtuosos of classical and jazz music aim to find a fresh, genre-free perspective on chamber music composed for brass instruments.
KOLIZIO's repertoire mainly consists of original compositions by the group's founding member, tubist Petri Keskitalo, as well as inventive arrangements of classic pieces from various genres. Just before recording their album UNIVERSALA ALBUMO in the spring of 2023, Keskitalo unexpectedly passed away. Following his death, Portuguese tuba virtuoso Sergio Carolino joined the ensemble as its newest member.
