Tom Nekljudow (b. 1960) has become known in the 21st century as the drummer of saxophonist Juhani Aaltonen's trio. Free jazz has indeed been the comfort zone for Nekljudow since his teens but in the years he has had time to get familiar with different music styles as well, like Afrocuban and Indian music. The deep interest towards world music took Nekljudow also to join Sakari Kukko's group Piirpauke in the 1980s.

One of the first jazz bands for Nekljudow was guitarist Raoul Björkenheim's Arbuusi that was founded in 1976. Trio performed actively in the end of the decade and brought their own jazzy spice to the music life defined by new wave and punk. In 1983 Nekljudow started to study under Edward Vesala and joined in the quartet of bassist Antti Hytti. At the same time Roomushklahn was born, a group formed by Nekljudow, Björkenheim, Hytti, saxophonist Jone Takamäki and pianist Jarmo Savolainen. Nekljudow played also in the early version of Björkenheim's Krakatau and in Hasse Walli's Afro-Line as a percussionist.

In the beginning of the 21st century Nekljudow participated less to the music life of Finland but he could be spotted occasionally playing on the rhythm & blues gigs. Nekljudow did a visible return in folk-jazztrio Otná Eahket, that he had founded with Antti Hytti and Jone Takamäki in 1997. Trio was also the core of Suhkan uhka, a supergroup of jazz founded in the beginning of the 21st century. Thanks to Juhani Aaltonen trio, Nekljudow has become a drummer with an impressive recording catalogue at TUM Records. One of the most recent groups for Nekljudow, besides Juhani Aaltonen trio, has also been Jorma Tapio's Rolling Thunder.
