Bassist Timo Tuppurainen (b. 1973) had time to taste the fruit of success already before joining the distinguished groovejazz-band U-Street All Stars. He played the bass on Lenni-Kalle Taipale trio's sale success album Nothing to Hide and on the christmas album Hiutaleita of the trio and singer Marika Krook. Tuppurainen started his jazz studies at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory and continued them at the Sibelius Academy's jazz department. Though he has always been interested in jazz music, he has had his left foot always on the field of folk and ethnic music: in the beginning of the 21st century he recorded on the debut album of Iso Karhu and in 2002 also on the second album of the band.  In addition he has recorded as a studio musician on several schlager albums.

Tuppurainen has composed several songs for U-Street All Stars but he has also composed lots of material for several theatre plays. Besides U-Street All Stars, Tuppurainen has recorded jazz with violinist Ari Poutiainen's band NoneAlike, accordeonist Veli Kujala's Pipoka-band and guitarist Valtteri Pöyhönen's Dalindèo. The connection with his early musical partner Lenni-Kalle Taipale has also remained in the Hemma Beast -band. Tuppurainen graduated in 2004 from the Sibelius Academy with a Master's degree and has ever since, besides performing, composing and recording, taught bass in for example Ebeli the pop/jazz department of EMO and the Conservatory of Kuopio.
