Sami Leponiemi has rapidly risen to the awareness of the Finnish jazz scene. Leponiemi's enthusiasm and activity in the field of music have aroused the interest of the audience and many pioneers of jazz music.
In addition to jazz, Leponiemi is inspired by classical music, from which he draws for his compositional work and improvisation. Leponiemi's open-minded attitude to life is also an influential factor in his music. Leponiemi is currently studying at Sibelius Academy's jazz department under Kari Heinilä. During his studies, he has also been supervised by Jussi Kannaste and Jukkis Uotila.
Leponiemi has received recognition by placing first in the Huittinen Hullu Puhallus wind instrument competition 2017. Leponiemi can be heard in the ranks of the following bands: Peela, Sami Saari & Jazzpojat, Sointi Jazz Orchestra, Timo Brass Band and jazz trio Sir Garrison.
