Mikael Jakobsson (b. 1969) became a familiar face to the bigger audience as the pianist of the famous jazz group Five Corners Quintet in the beginning of the 21st century. Jakobsson has graduated from the jazz department of Sibelius Academy and has done a long career in i.a. Ira Kaspi Jazz Diva Band, Sofia Finnilä Septet and Jenny Robson & Friends. His rhythmic versatility has made him one of the most distinguished and hard-working pianists in Finland.

Recently Jakobsson has been performing with his own trio, Antti Rissanen Jukebox Band and Mikko Karjalainen's Gunu Karjalainen All Stars group. Jakobsson also teaches piano at the jazz department of Sibelius Academy and at the pop/jazz department of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
