biography

Kalle Kalima (b. 1973) began his music career with piano lessons when he was 6-year-old. Five years later he changed the piano to a guitar and hasn't looked back ever since. Kalima studied guitar at the Sibelius Academy and at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin under i.a. Raoul Björkenheim and John Schröder. In Berlin Kalima got also more interested in free jazz and free improvisation. In Berlin Kalima's most important free jazz bands were formed, Klima Kalima and Kalle Kalima & K-18.
