Due to great demand, UMO and Anna Puu’s collaborative Christmas tour is to visit Helsinki’s Temppeliaukio Church twice on Thursday 10 December. The additional show is to take place at 6:00PM. The later show of the day, starting at 9:00PM, is already sold out.
This Christmas UMO will be fronted by one of Finland’s best-loved pop artists, Anna Puu, excited to be back in the game after her long break in gigging. The upcoming Christmas tour will be the first of its kind for the singer as such and with a big band.
“I would never have imagined to do a Christmas tour but when I was contacted by UMO I jumped at the chance. Christmas songs in the spirit of jazz? With UMO? With me as the soloist? At solemn, atmospheric churches? I could not refuse such an offer for the world! These concerts can only turn out to be something very unique,” says Anna Puu.
Anna Puu, who considers herself a fan of Christmas, and UMO will be performing new takes on classic Christmas favourites, such as "Rekiretki", "Sylvian joululaulu" and "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow".
UMO is conducted by Kirmo Lintinen.
In addition to Helsinki, the tour stops at Espoo, Vantaa, Porvoo, Kotka, Hämeenlinna, Jyväskylä and Pori.
