April Jazz, the biggest jazz event of the Helsinki metropolitan area, comes for the 31st time on 26 - 30 April 2017. This year’s international headliners include jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves, pianist Michel Camilion and flamenco guitarist Tamatito’s super duo, the magical Tunisian vocalist and oud-player Dhafer Yussef and Steve Gadd Band. The opening concert adds another chapter to the long list of one-off Finnish appearances featuring composer-multi-instrumentalists Marzi Nyman, Annamari Kähärä and Jarmo Saari alongside Tapiola Sinfonietta and Tapiola Choir. Marrying DJ culture and acoustic elements without fear, electro group Serot issues their sophomore on Arvo Records on 3 February 2017. Entitled Otava, the recording features jazz musicians pianist Iiro Rantala and trumpeter Verneri Pohjola.
