Ville Lähteenmäki Trio is an ambitious and explosive band that consists of some of Finland's and Norway's most exciting young jazz musicians: Ville Lähteenmäki (bass clarinet), Nicolas Leirtrø (bass), and Trym Saugstad Karlsen (drums).

The trio's music is influenced by 1960's and 1970's jazz icons such as Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, Alice Coltrane and Albert Ayler. Currently the band is working on their debut album, which will be released in the summer of 2022. The album honors the trio's biggest heroes in music, but it is also a breath of fresh air in the future of Nordic jazz.
