PAD trio was born out of serendipity. The three members had all been stable parts of the jazz scene of Gothenburg but never played in a band all together - until the recording of what would become their debut album.

Through a series of coincidences in July 2020, the trio ended up having their very first musical encounter in a studio without material, without an idea of what would come out of that session and without ever having played a single note together. That first note - played by the bassist Daniel Andersson in the beginning of Pale Sun - stretched out into a long, continuous, collective improvisation that ended up being the backbone of their album.
