NIMBY's performances are structured into organic entities, where the boundaries between compositions and improvised episodes blur in a fresh way. The basis of the group's music is strongly in the jazz tradition interpreted with a liberated attitude and mischievous frenzy.

NIMBY members also influence e.g. in the bands Superposition!, JAF Trio, Sointi Jazz Orchestra and Viba, and have performed e.g. in the ranks of the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.
