Martti Vesala Soundpost Quintet consists of top Finnish jazz musicians: trumpeter-composer Martti Vesala, saxophonist Petri Puolitaipale, pianist Joonas Haavisto, drummer Ville Pynssi, and double bassist Juho Kivivuori.

Their most important influences include the dynamic groove of Miles Davis' 1960's quintet, experimental American jazz of the same era and saxophonist-composer Wayne Shorter's elegant tonal language.

The quintet has been actively involved in the Finnish jazz scene for 10 years, having performed at events such as the Münsterland Festival 2023 in Germany, a tour organized by the Finnish Jazz Federation in 2017, as well as at the Pori Jazz and Tampere Jazz Happening festivals. Additionally, the quintet's leader, Martti Vesala, organized an extensive tour of Finland in 2023. Since 2016, the group's music has been released by the German label Ozella Music.

Their third album Landmarks was released in November 2022, receiving rave reviews from publications such as Helsingin Sanomat and JazzThing. The reviews of their live performances have also been consistently positive.
