Kaima is a Helsinki-based jazz band founded in 2020. The band was originally built around the compositions of pianist Sonja Kaipainen, but later other members of the band have also contributed music to Kaima.

The band's compositions draw influences from human values such as vulnerability, honesty, and sincerity. The fragile yet powerful nature surrounding us also serves as an important source of inspiration for the ensemble.

The expressive members of Kaima play together seamlessly, intensely listening to each other. This creates a powerful yet delicate, breathing whole for the band.

Kaima released their first EP Ulappa in September 2022.
