In his own 11-piece Saïsba group the West African traditions mix in with afrobeat, funk, rock and jazz rhythms. The smaller version, Saïsba 6tet, was founded in 2018. With the jazz hard-hitters like Kari Ikonen on board, this sextet leans slightly more towards jazz tradition and improvisation. Sané’s first solo album Ekiinafrik was released on Eclipse Music label in the fall of 2019.
