Ida Alanen Trio's music draws inspiration from visual forms as well as the border between dream and wakefulness, bringing subconscious images to light. The trio's cohesive sound is the result of three years of close collaboration, effortlessly blending carefully orchestrated compositions with free improvisation.

Ida Alanen, the leader of the group, is currently studying in the master's program at the Amsterdam Conservatory under the guidance of Harmen Fraanje. Originally formed in Helsinki, the trio performs both domestically and internationally.

The trio's debut album Awake Asleep was released in October 2023, with its main theme revolving around dreams, dream imagery, and the border between sleep and wakefulness. The album was recorded with the support of the Finnish Cultural Foundation and released by the Norwegian record label AMP Music & Records.
