F# was formed in the spring 2016 and the debut concert was at the Pori Jazz festival in the same year. The ensemble formed by Sid Hille, Jori Huhtala and Markus Ketola has toured in Finland and Estonia in 2017 and 2018. Their debut album the wannsee punk was recorded in Estonia in November 2017 and it consists solely of freely improvised music.

Although F#’s music is completely improvised it is not free jazz. All members of the trio are distinguished composers and the textures, grooves and melodies are spontaneously composed. The music is full of surprising changes, thick texture, groove and impressive soundscapes. The audience gets to follow the creation of new, unheard music, which can never be repeated in the same way again.

F# has collaborated with several international guests such as Austrian Herbert Könighofer, Estonian vocalists Laura Põldvere and Ivi Rausi, Liina Saar and Finnish guitarist Jarmo Saari.
