Swedish drummer-composer Emil Brandqvist formed his trio with Finnish pianist Tuomas A. Turunen in Goteborg in 2005. Swedish bassist Max Thornberg has been part of the trio since 2012. The ensemble has recorded four albums for Skip Records and through the cooperation the band has established themselves as one of the most interesting piano trios especially in the Middle-Europe.

The Trio released their new album in the spring 2018. The TV and radio performances in German, concerts at the many European top-notch festivals and over four million online streams show that things are going well for the trio.

The ensemble's music is poetic, melodic and sprawling jazz. On their records they colour the acoustic piano trio sound with string quartet, woodwinds and celesta.
