biography
Ville Paija (b.1973, Turku) started playing piano at the age of six. After classical studies in conservatory, jazz came in the picture in his teenage. Ville started playing at the local restaurants in the age of 15. He has worked especially as a solo pianist in Turku and Helsinki but also for longer periods in Sweden and England. In the beginning of the 90ties mr. Paija studied composing under composer and jazz flautist and saxophonist Esa Pethman. Paija held a composing concert in Turku 1994 with music for string quartet, piano quintet, brass quintet and later composed an expressive orchestral work for Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.
