Singer and pianist Susanna Lukkarinen has been a prominent figure in the Finnish music scene for many years, both as a member of various bands and as a solo artist. She is also one of the founding members of the popular vocal ensemble Club For Five, where she sang from 2000 to 2021.
In October 2023, Susanna released her second solo album Perfume River, which is rooted in jazz and folk music, skillfully combining elements from a wide range of musical styles. The compositions on the album are brought to life by some of Finland's top jazz musicians, including Teemu Viinikainen, Jaska Lukkarinen, Antti Lötjönen and Jussi Kannaste. The album follows Susanna's previous solo productions, the most recent of which was the 2010 release Fly Away.
"My musical roots are in classical music and jazz, but as a teenager, I also fell in love with folk and world music. These musical styles have remained strong influences in my compositions," Susanna explains.
