Oulu-born Riikka Keränen (b. 1988) graduated with a Master’s degree from the jazz program of Sibelius Academy. She has studied jazz singing also at Guildhall School of Music in London and Malmö Academy of Music.

Keränen's music is a modern art of music that draws from strong jazz inspiration, with texts that linger in dark waters and storytelling that meanders through improvisation. Keränen released her debut album A Vision of a Garden through Flame Jazz Records in February 2022. The main theme of the album is love and its diversity is mirrored through various phenomena and places: the journey takes you through nightless nights in the Sámi mountains and the dense rainforests of Cameroon all the way to the time of the pharaohs and Queen Nefertiti.

In addition to her own band Keränen is part of the Emma and Teosto award nominated Signs and the ensemble of the enchanting folk artist Ylva Haru.
