Janne Toivonen (b. 1982) is one of the most talented and versatile jazztrumpetists in Finland recently. He has played on several jazzrecordings, for example with Reactor-5, Mikko Pellinen Mini Big Band and Aleksi Ahoniemi's Korma-orchestra. Toivonen, who is originally from Ilmajoki, started his music career on the jazz field of the Western coast in Kavrken Big Band. Toivonen lives nowadays in Helsinki and studies at the jazz department of the Sibelius Academy. He performs actively in Finland and abroad, for example with Tuomari Nurmio, Hector and some legends of Caribbean world music, such as Exile One and Jean-Philippe Marthèly.
