Ilkka Arola is a trumpet player and composer who has a distinctive voice in the Finnish jazz community.  With his quartertone trumpet, Arola combines the microtonal sounds of Arabic music with different influences from an array of music cultures. Arola's debut album "From the Depths of the Earth" was released in the Spring of 2017 in co-operation with Texicalli Records. In addition to working with his own group, Arola can be heard playing in the ranks of Sointi Jazz Orchestra and Turku Jazz Orchestra.
