Tuomas Paukku Scription releases its second album entitled Whirls on Eclipse Music in October 2023.

The band, which started in 2016, embodies a distinctive and strong vision in contemporary instrumental jazz, interpreting the unique and atmospheric music of guitarist-composer Tuomas Paukku with great determination. In addition to Paukku, the lineup includes pianist Artturi Rönkä, bassist Jori Huhtala, and drummer Tomi Saikkonen.

Jyväskylä-based jazz guitarist Tuomas Paukku is known for his versatility, mastery over various styles and musical situations, as well as for his visionary compositions and band leadership. Paukku's broad-minded interest in various music genres is subtly reflected in his main project's music.

Tuomas Paukku Scription positions itself on the borderlands of modern Nordic jazz impressionism and post-bop, discovering new nuances in its music also from the outer edges of jazz expression. The band's music, characterized by majestic Scandinavian atmospheres and thrillingly progressing moods, constructs its own world that has resonated with fans of jazz, classical music, and progressive rock alike.

The previous album (Tuomas Paukku Scription, Eclipse Music 2018) notably featured through-composed sections and meandering song structures. The compositions on the Whirls album, meticulously matured and deepened in the same direction and spirit, were created between 2019-21 specifically for this album and lineup.
