Biography
Where the Solid Ends is the debut album by Hands and Omens.
Hands and Omens' debut album Where the Solid Ends was released in September 2019. The album is a hopefully melancholic and nuanced whole, whose strong compositional ideas carry throughout the work and create a space for challenging, expressive improvisation.
Pianist Nikita Rafaelov, violinist Silva Kallionpää and bassist Joonas Tuuri have drawn inspiration to their unique compositions from the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe, Daniil Harms and Knut Hamsun. The moods of absurdism and horror cleverly created in the books fascinate the musicians, and they seek to construct worlds and stories by means of musical expression.
