Njet Njet 9’s fourth album Toivo is a sonic journey through evolution.

Led by the innovative keyboard player Ville Kyttälä, the nine-piece ensemble Njet Jet 9 showcases an evolution in their spirited musical style, infusing intricate and uplifting melodies throughout the album. Under the leadership of keyboard maestro Kyttälä, this energetic mini big band has carved a niche for themselves, known for their vibrant live performances and fan-driven electronic sound.

The album, a sonic journey titled Toivo, features sonically polished, cinematic music based on catchy melodies and instrumental prowess. Unlike previous releases, Toivo excludes guest singers, allowing the band's melodic and hypnotically grooving instrumental pieces to take center stage.

The album's tracklist unveils captivating compositions like Pöllö, Mea, and Kesä 2000, each offering a unique sonic experience. The three-part piece, The Messenger, seamlessly leads to the closing title track, Hope, featuring a hypnotic bass clarinet tenato and a delicious guitar interpretation. Njet Njet 9's music is a fusion of contemporary jazz, incorporating elements of rock, soul, and electronic music. Ville Kyttälä emphasizes their unprejudiced approach to mixing different styles, creating a multi-hued world of music.

The band lineup includes Ville Kyttälä on keyboards, Markus Pajakkala on baritone saxophone, flute, and percussion, Ilmari Rönkä on alto saxophone and flute, Pekka Seppänen on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Martti Vesala on trumpet, Mikko Haanpää on trombone, Veikki Virkajärvi on guitar, Heikki Laine on bass, Erik Fräki on drums and percussion, and Paavo Malmberg on programming.
