Biography

Yrjö-award winning bassist Antti Lötjönen and guitarist Kalle Kalima released the joint album Stings, Bites and Scratches in January 2025.

Internationally recognized guitarist-composer Kalle Kalima and bassist Antti Lötjönen, one of the leading names in Finnish jazz, have joined forces and the result is a debut album bearing the name Stings, Bites and Scratches.

The album was recorded live at the studio in the fall of 2024 at Hietarannan Paviljonki. Composition and production were shared between Lotjönen and Kalima. As the name suggests, the 44-minute record insightfully scratches the surface of free jazz, and while listening to the flow of the music, one’s track of time disappears.
