Biography
Songs From Suspended Times is modern jazz piano playing at its most sensitive and creditably showcases Tuomo Uusitalo's talents as a modern jazz composer.
Tuomo Uusitalo is an internationally awarded jazz pianist who has been active in New York since 2012, whose life path has brought him back to Helsinki after years abroad.
Uusitalo's career has already been extensive and the list of merits includes performances with several legendary bands and musicians such as Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jimmy Cobb, Billy Hart, Chris Cheek, Seamus Blake, Justin Brown, Dayna Stephens, Peter Slavov, Ulysses Owens Jr., David Schnitter, Rich Perry, Joe Farnsworth and Elliott Mason just to name a few. Uusitalo's debut album TRIO received a brilliant reception in its release year of 2012 and won several awards, e.g. Downbeat Student Music Award and the Sir Roland Hanna Award from the City University of New York.
