Consisting of his own compositions, jazz standards, free improvisation and an interpretation of one of Arvo Pärt’s classics, Peaces sheds light on Tuomas Paukku’s solo guitar style in a versatile way.

Peaces is the solo project of guitarist-composer Tuomas Paukku, who focuses on the possibilities of the jazz guitar as a solo instrument. The album combines compositions, improvisation, different playing techniques, effects and looping in the style of a more peaceful and reflective side of modern jazz.

On the new album fans can expect to hear Paukku’s solo compositions, renditions of jazz standards and a few art music gems. Tuomas Paukku, who is from Jyväskylä, is among the most active jazz guitarists in Finland. His own bands include the neo jazz quartet Tuomas Paukku Scription and the Jazz Jkl Collective, which spans multiple generations. Paukku also works as the producer-organizer at Jazz Jkl ry, an organisation that enriches the live jazz happenings in Central Finland.
