Sámi poet-musician Niillas Holmberg and saxophonist-composer Pauli Lyytinen release their long-awaited collaborative album Naarattu laulu on October 24, 2025 via Eclipse Music.

Naarattu laulu is a deeply evocative sonic work that fuses joik, spoken word, saxophone, percussion and live electronics into a mythic and poetic soundscape. More than a traditional album, it is an artistic act of invocation—a ritual that retrieves something timeless from beneath the surface.

“How water carries sound.”

The album title comes from Niillas Holmberg’s new poetry collection Naarattu, to be published by Gummerus on October 6, 2025. The book and the album are connected by shared language, imagery, and themes—together forming a multidimensional artistic expression.

The collaboration began in 2021 and has matured through performances across Europe. With Naarattu laulu, their shared vision is now captured for the first time in recorded form—a document of listening, improvising, and letting language and sound flow together.
