Biography

Luonnonhenki - Spirit of Nature is a series of trumpeter Antero Priha’s  compositions for a jazz ensemble. The musical style of the series is a combination of modern improvisation, modal jazz music and ethnic musical influences of nature peoples. Frog, Deer, Raven and Mystics of Nature have received their own compositions.

The idea of the compositional ensemble is based on Finnish feelings and life with the sacredness of nature and nature spirits. The ancient Finnish animistic world is made sounding and audible through modern jazz and art music. The ensemble's performance is well suited for jazz festivals, clubs and art events.
