The album AIR by the band Kaira is modern Finnish instrumental jazz.

The album features Markus Niittynen (piano), Heikko Remmel (bass), Jussi Lehtonen (drums), Abdissa Assefa (percussion), Timo Lassy (saxophone, flute), Kalevi Louhivuori (trumpet, flugelhorn), and Kasperi Sarikoski (trombone).

"All of these top musicians have their own bands, but the idea of the KAIRA band is to occasionally bring them together to create a Finnish jazz masterpiece," says Lauri Kaira.

Lauri Kaira and Markus Niittynen conceived and founded the band in 2017, serving as its composers.

"It has been a great pleasure to work on a new KAIRA album again, both as a composer and as a pianist," says Markus Niittynen. "The process was long, but we can be very satisfied with the end result."

"With this album, we wanted to return to the basics of jazz. Jazz harmonies, diversity, and freedom give top musicians the opportunity to express themselves and create unique, captivating music," says Kaira.
