This year’s We Jazz festival offered eight days of jazz experiences on surprising venues around Helsinki. The next We Jazz festival is held on 1.-8-12.2019 in Helsinki. The first announced acts include Norwegian trumpeter Hilde Marie Holsen, OK:KO, Teppo Mäkynen’s 3TM and post jazz band VIRTA, who will held their own festival in the festival. The festival passes for We Jazz 2019 are now on sale.
We Jazz 2019 is organized in Helsinki on the 1st to 8th of December 2019. The first artist announcements are Norwegian trumpeter Hilde Marie Holsen, who performs electroacoustic jazz music, Teppo Mäkynen’s 3TM presenting their new Lake album concept, post-jazz trio VIRTA, who curates their own festival inside the festival and OK:KO, who is releasing their new album via We Jazz Records in February.
Eight-day We Jazz 2018 was successfully celebrated in Helsinki from 2nd to 9th December. For the first time, the festival visited Estonia on the Independence Day on 6th December. The concert is to be continued with We Jazz club in Tallinn in the spring 2019. Most of the We Jazz concerts were sold out and gigs were seen in places such as a basement of a second-hand bookshop, self-service warehouse, techno club, industrial hall, cinema, coffee house, photographic studio and art gallery.
