Villa Karo’s residency open call for 2023 closes September 19

Villa Karo is a Finnish-African cultural center, which is located in the village of Grand-Popo, Benin, West Africa. The center’s goal is to enhance the African knowledge of Finnish cultural figures, promote collaboration between Finnish and African artists and researchers as well as to support Finland and Benin’s cultural exchange.

Villa Karo provides Finnish cultural and social-sector professionals an opportunity for a residency in Benin while functioning as a cultural center in Grand-Popo.

Residency applications are processed twice a year. The application period is continuous, ie the application can be submitted at any time. After the application deadline, applications will be processed within 3-4 weeks.
 
Deadline for the spring period call 20.9.
 
The application should have a short resume and work plan, which should include the desired dates for the residency. The period of residency can be from 6 weeks up to 12 weeks.
 
The application should include the following:

- Name/s as shown on passport
- Contact information (email, phone number, home address)
- Birth date
- Your potential membership as a Villa Karo's community member
